Partnerships

The Arts & Technology Academy is very pleased to have several partners in our efforts to provide an amazing learning environment and experience for our students. Listed below are the formal partners we have engaged to date. Please note the many more "Friends of ATA" who have reached out to us with support in various forms. We appreciate all of the support and look forward to working with others who believe in the power of an excellent education.

Arts Education Initiative

The Arts Education Initiative (AEI) is a multifaceted project designed to establish a District-wide Arts Education Plan that includes arts experiences, arts learning, and arts integration. ATA staff members participate in hands-on professional development to promote effective arts integration. AEI also provides funding for school-based arts integration initiatives and wonderful arts experiences for the students. Please visit their website to learn more about AEI: http://www.dccollaborative.org/programs/artseducationinitiative.html.

As the first cohort of ATA students to participate in the program, our 5th graders will receive support in seven component areas for the next seven years - hopefully removing many of the barriers to entering college. Students and staff benefit from four full-time Carrera Trust staff members who are on site everyday, in addition to several part-time local and national support staff members. To learn more about this exciting program, please visit their website at www.stopteenpregnancy.com.

Center for Inspired Teaching

The Center for Inspired Teaching offers a 15-month state-approved teacher certification program that recruits, selects, prepares and supports exceptional individuals who wish to serve the children of the District of Columbia as teachers.

New Leaders for New Schools

The New Leaders for New Schools (NLNS) is designed to effectively prepare and support individuals who have an unyielding belief in the potential of all children to achieve academically, a record of success in leading adults, and demonstrated instructional expertise in a K-12 classroom setting to become highly successful school leaders. ATA has four NLNS-trained leaders and enjoys ongoing support from an assigned leadership coach (former principal) to ensure student achievement.
